- 22th-25th of october: Amsterdam Dance Event, participating clubs: Paradiso, Melkweg (both near Leidseplein), Panama (behind Central Station approximately 1,5 kilometre to the east), Club Arena (near Oosterpark), More (Rozengracht)

- 24th-26th of October: Bockbeerfestival in Beurs van Berlage at Damrak; try this dark seasonal beer of many breweries, large and small ones from all over The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany

- 31th of October: Halloween Party at Boom Chicago comedy club at Leidse Plein

- Saturdayevening the 1st of November: Museumnight: Almost all museums in the city are open during the evening untill 2AM! Tickets that give entrance to all of them can be bought at the GWK Travelex-offices, Amsterdam Uitburo (AUB)/last-minute ticketshop at Leidseplein, Fame Music store at the corner of Dam and Kalverstraat, price 17 euro

- 12th November-30th of November: India Festival, opening at Museumsquare and Concerthall wednesday the 12th of November, a lot of activities in places like De Balie (Leidseplein)

-20th-30th of November: International Documentary Festival Amsterdam near Rembrandtsquare, ticketsale at Cineac at Reguliersbreestraat, documentaries at Tuschinski and Pathe De Munt cinemas bothy close to Rembrandtsquare

- 23th-27th of November: Cannabis cup at many coffeeshops in the centre, Barney's coffeeshop at Haarlemmerstraat close to central station is one of the organizing coffeshops

All year: - Popconcerts at Stadium Arena, Heineken Music Hall (near the Stadium Arena), at Paradiso and De Melkweg (both in the neighbourhood of Leidseplein) and daily at Maloe Melo at Lijnbaansgracht and at Bourbonstreet close to Leidseplein, opera at Het Muziektheater at Waterlooplein (De Nederlandse Opera), classical symphonical music at Het Concertgebouw (Museumplein, same square as Van Goghmuseum and Rijksmuseum) and Conservatory Amsterdam (beside the public Library east of Central Station), English-spoken cabaret and stand-up comedy at Boom Chicago (Leidseplein) and on sunday at Comedy Cafe (close to Leidseplein), mainstream Hollywoodmovies at Pathe De Munt close to Rembrandtplein, arthousemovies at Cinecenter near Leidseplein, Tuschinski near Rembrandtsquare, Kriterion (Roetersstraat near the Artis Zoo), the movies at Haarlemmerdijk and Rialto at Ceintuurbaan, football at Ajaxstadium Arena mostly on sundays twice a month
